Academic Program

Curriculum Goals MGIS has identified curriculum goals considered essential to the learning process of its students. The goals are set in order to acquire a range of thinking skills, problem solving, creativity, comprehension, interpretation, extrapolation, and synthesis. The curriculum aligns with the school mission and vision together with the common core standards. MGIS believes it is essential for students to see connections and relationships, alongside the acquisition of important basic skills. Goals include teaching students to critically think and make connections. The aim is for its students to become confident performers, presenters and public speakers, and work cooperatively and collaboratively. Students are taught to acknowledge their peers’ points of views and respond in an open-minded manner. Academic Program Summary Kindergarten Stage (KG1 – KG2) The Kindergarten program focuses on building foundational academic, social, and motor skills in a supportive and engaging learning environment. Students study core subjects including English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, French, Arabic, and Religion. In addition, students participate in Art, Music, and Physical Education activities that encourage creativity, communication, and physical development. The program aims to develop early literacy, numeracy, social interaction, and independent learning skills. Elementary Stage (Grades 1 – 6) The Elementary program provides students with a balanced academic foundation while fostering creativity, critical thinking, and character development. Students study English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, French, Arabic, Religion, Arts, Music, and Physical Education. Additional subjects such as Character Building and STEAM are integrated to enhance leadership, teamwork, innovation, and problem-solving skills. Arabic Social Studies are introduced in the upper elementary grades to strengthen students’ understanding of national identity and culture. Middle School Stage (Grades 7 – 9) The Middle School program is designed to strengthen students’ academic knowledge while preparing them for higher levels of learning and responsibility. The curriculum includes English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, French, Arabic, Religion, Arabic Social Studies, Arts, Music, Physical Education, Character Building, and STEAM. The program emphasizes analytical thinking, communication skills, creativity, and personal growth while encouraging students to become responsible and independent learners. Beginning in Grade 9, students also study Pre-SAT preparation courses to develop the academic and test-taking skills required for future standardized examinations and university readiness. High School Stage (Grades 10 – 12) The High School program prepares students for university studies and future career pathways through a comprehensive and academically rigorous curriculum. Students study advanced subjects including English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Business, Computer Studies, Arabic, Religion, Civics, Foreign Languages (French or German), Arts, Music, and Physical Education. In addition, students continue developing standardized test preparation skills through Pre-SAT and SAT-oriented academic support. The program focuses on academic excellence, critical thinking, research skills, leadership, and global awareness to ensure students are well-prepared for higher education and lifelong success.
